Awards for the next generation in nursing science!
In spring 2022, the Chair held a competition to award two Desjardins Emerging Nurses Awards in nursing care for older people and their families.
care for older people and their families. This award was created in 2017 in recognition of the Desjardins Group’s 15-year commitment to the Chair. Its objective is to highlight the contribution of the Chair’s students to the dissemination of knowledge on the care for older people and their families.
The winners of the competition are Ms. Isabelle Auclair, a doctoral candidate, and Mr. Dave Métras, a master’s student, both under the supervision of Anne Bourbonnais, Chairholder.
Ms. Auclair’s dissemination activity consists of the publication of a scientific article that presents a scoping review protocol to establish the extent of knowledge regarding the inclusion of family members of the older people in palliative and end-of-life care.
Mr. Métras’ activity is an oral presentation on the results of a literature review on the transition of newly graduated nurses in long-term care homes regarding their professional development and the challenges they face. This presentation will be presented at the Secrétariat international des infirmières et infirmiers de l’espace francophone (SIDIIEF) conference in Ottawa in October 2022.
Congratulations to the two winners!
