On October 24, 2018, the chairholder participated in a conference organized by Handicap-Vie-Dignité (HVD), an organization dedicated to improve the quality of life of people living with severe disabilities.
In 2013, HVD was entrusted with the management of the Hélène Rumak Fund, created as a result of a class action brought against a public long-term care facility (LTCF). The goal of this fund is to raise the awareness of residents, their representatives, their families and of volunteers working in LCTFs on residents’ rights and on ways to promote them. Based on this mission, HVD organized this conference entitled Together … promoting quality of life for residents.
The conference brought together various groups concerned by the mission of the Fund. The participants had the opportunity to attend workshops and to exchange with panel members who included the Chairholder, Anne Bourbonnais.
This conference was organized with the help of an expert advisory committee set up by HVD and in which Anne Bourbonnais also participated.
