Two winners for the 2018 edition of the Desjardins Award for the new generation in nursing care for older people and their family
The Desjardins Award for the new generation in nursing care for older people and their family was created in recognition of the Mouvement Desjardins contribution as a key partner of the Chair for more than fifteen years. It aims to recognize the contribution of Chair students in improving care of older people and their families.

This year, the two $2,500 awards aimed specifically to support students in the presentation of a communication at an international congress. The winners of the 2018 competition are Marie-Hélène Lalonde and Geneviève Leblanc. They are both students at the Faculty of Nursing of the Université de Montréal under the supervision of the Chairholder, Anne Bourbonnais.
Ms. Lalonde will present the results of her master’s thesis entitled “L’exploration des perceptions quant au partenariat de soins pour la prévention de l’état confusionnel postopératoire chez les personnes âgées” at the 11thCongrès international francophone de gérontologie et gériatrie (CIFGG) which will take place in Montreux in Switzerland from June 13 to 16, 2018.
Ms. Leblanc will also present the results of her master’s thesis entitled “Les significations de soigner des personnes âgées pour les infirmières travaillant dans une salle d’urgence” at the 7th International Congress of the Secrétariat international des infirmières et infirmiers de l’espace francophone (SIDIIEF) which will take place in Bordeaux, France, from June 3 to 6, 2018.
