Recently, a non-profit organization dedicated to the care of people living with Alzheimer’s disease has developed a highly innovative day centre.

Inspired by the Dutch project “Hogeweyk”, the George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Care Center, in the city of San Diego in California, plans to inaugurate in 2018 a day centre reproducing a city evoking the time when most of their client lived as young adults.

The article mentions that this immersion approach of people living with Alzheimer’s disease would contribute to the improvement of their cognitive functions and their quality of life.
