Two religious communities in Joliette have joined forces to create the PAX Residence, a living environment for older people. Rooted in its community, the residence offers an evolving response to the needs of people who live there. The PAX project promotes mix various of client type and encourages community involvement. This model has been described as inspiring by Sonia Bélanger, the Minister responsible for seniors in Quebec government. It could eventually serve as a model for the development of older people’s residences elsewhere in Quebec.
