Last October, the Alzheimer Society of Canada launched the first Canadian Charter of Rights for People with Dementia. This Charter was developed in collaboration with people living with a neurocognitive disorder. It described seven rights. It aims to help people living with dementia to better understand and defend their rights. It is also a guide for health and social service professionals and a framework for those responsible for developing national health policies.
